Here is my latest project i picked up. An 86 Honda Rebel I bought this bike about a month ago after I went to a car show and saw all these bikes and got it in my head that I needed one... Well i never rode a bike before other than a little pit bike out in the desert. So I found this and bought it signed up for an MSF Class and just got my license. While waiting for a month to go to the class I figured the bike cannot stay the way it was. I wanted to lower it so the b/f made me some solid steel rods to replace the rear shocks to see if I like how the rigid frame feels. Then we replaced the stock handle bars with some black drag bars. Also replaced the rear fender with a fender that b/f made in a metal shaping class and cut off a few brackets. Also relocated all the wiring to under the swing arm so its out of site along with moving the battery to under the seat. Also painted it. Mixed some maroon paint that I have from my Ford with some flat black to come up with the color.

There a few little things left to do like hook up my mini speedo I have and we just finished mounting the tail lights so I still need to hook up all the wires. Once I get pics of those I'll post them. But until then....

right after I picked it up.....the blue paint has to go!

Nice sled Danielle! You might be able to cut an inch or so out of the coils on your coil-overs and get that rear rake you want, riding hard tail is hard on the back!! Love the flat black paint!!! :waytogo:

Crazy- yeah I know that it's hard on your back with it being a hard tail but I thought I would try it. 89- there isn't suppose to be a front fender.... Bobbers don't have them usually and I like it with out one :)

I would even consider cutting the shock mount tabs off the frame or swingarm and re-weld them in a way it gives you the dropped back look. My back aches just thinking about riding a hard tail!
