Not sure of what forum this belongs in, so will start here. I'm going to add stock air conditioning to my 83 GMC with a 350, using the A6 compressor. Tonight when I pulled the brackets and compressor off a donor 1970s wagon at the local salvage yard, the power steering pump had a different bracket on it than what is on my truck currently. The bracket on the donor wagon has the adjustment slot on the far side away from the engine. The bracket on my truck doesn't have an adjustment slot, but is adjusted by another bracket mounted to the engine/driver's side exhaust manifold.

I'm guessing that I need to go back and get that bracket for the PS pump, or will what I already have work with the A6 mounting brackets?

There are a couple variations in brackets. Your best bet is to get the other one from the donor. pay attention to the bolts / washers or you will have alignment issues to and the water pump might be drilled or threaded where the p/s pump mounts.

The original brackets on my '75 are like the ones in this picture. The PS pump mounts in a pivoting cradle with a bolt going through the pivot and into the block, and the adjusment is held by a nut on the bolt coming out of bracket #10 in the picture.
