I know they exist they actually came factory on chevy conversion vans. my questions are how hard are they to find, are the dimensions the same, how much of a hassle would it be to do the conversion on an 84 silvy k10?

I saw 3 sets at the wrench-a-part last week. Dodge vans had them too. I'm not sure about the mounting but I imagine they would be super easy to add by using the truck mounts and even the neck if you didn't want the "good neck" that the vans have. Then just wiring them in and adding a switch. I used a switch from a 1994 Buick Century on my truck and it looked factory.

dodge vans, chevy vans, 90's dodge trucks. super easy to mount. its the same as dumbo mirrors just drill a hole for wiring and add a switch.

im pretty sure but you don't need the base just the mirror and tube. they should mount to your base.
heres an inner look of the dodge ones.they have different mounting holes in the base. the chevy ones are the same as normal dumbo mirrors just with a power head.

So I saw this post and the next day I was at a pull it yard and found a Chevy van with a set. Door controls were gone tho. What setups have you guys used/made to control these?

You can use the switch and wiring from nearly all 90's GM vehicles that had power mirrors, just pick a style you like that will fit where you want to put it.

You can't change the bases on the mirrors with the truck bases. The van mirrors have a "notch" to keep them in the right spot. That way you can fold them in, then fold them back out to the same spot and you don't have to adjust them again.

And IIRC, the neck is a larger diameter too.

Basically, yes. The curve of the neck is a little different (like the regular van Dumbos) and they have a black plastic trim piece around the mirror housing.

They can be had in chrome or stainless?

I figured any switch worked. Just curious if any specific years would make for a clean and nice stock look lol
