Most pik n pulls you can get a pair of rebuidable heads for under 150.00 bucks under 100.00 on specials 200.00 bucks to get them reconditioned. I was just trying to be budget friendly for you. The bare heads you listed, by the time you buy all the parts and pay to have them assembled you'd be better off to buy a known quotient assembled head from speedway or the likes. You might be best off at this point,to focus on other aspects of your truck and give yourself time to find deals and stockpile your parts,or save more money for a more complete build.

On that $.99/gallon gas, I lived the days of $.26.00 gas ($.19 at stations playing the gas war games in Spokane). While those prices sound impressive, it should be remembered my dad was a State Highway foreman out of a little town called Brewster, Washington, and made about $800.00 a month.

After I came home from overseas, from a vacation Uncle Sam sent me on, I used to fill the tank of my Squareback for about $3.00 each night, then make a run from Wenatchee, Washington, to the Pacific Northwet coast (Burien), then back home for another day. I was only making a couple bucks an hour, but, like my dad, it was enough to pay the rent, eat and so on.
