first thing woul do is installll a new HEI distributor.
you COULD work on it and fi it yeh but its WAY MORE cost effective to simply buy a new one.
Prolly hard to buy a pickup coil anyways. dont worry about it too much.
not worth it.

look at the stack of money youre gonna "fix it up" with and double it. lol - you're gonna need more.
73's did not come with HEI distributors. Did not come around until 1975.

Where is the fuel filter supposed to be? Isnt it supposed to be right beside the carb?

On the 1973 350, the fuel filter was mounted on the Carburetor where the fuel line from the pump enters the Carb.

Not sure if Murphy has stations in Commie California, but the Murphy stations in Colorado have 87Octane non-ethanol fuel. In California, because you are at sea level, the Octane would be 89. Also you do not need to run Mobil Premium in this motor. The compression is not high enough to warrant 93 Octane. Stick with the 87, considering the mileage these old work horsed get, you will be saving yourself a lot of money you can invest elsewhere in your truck! ! !:):D

Ah okay, is that in the back or front of the carb? I see a couple different fuel lines going into the carb one in front one in back i believe
