Overheated 350!!!

Hey guys got a couple of questions my 19 yr old decided to run his new project truck without water! had a leaky radiator to begin with one of those things that i didnt get around to doing and it bit me in the ass!!! put water in it runs real rough got it off the freeway and onto a side st i was pissed to say the least, the wife says i should fixed before? anyway long story short theres water in the oil and oil filler cap so i suspect head gaskets and maybe cracked block? my question is how do i chk the block for cracks?

tear it down, and take it to a machine shop to have it Magna fluxed.
