My '79 C10 Custom Deluxe has its original interior and while the middle and right sections are like new, the driver's section has some tears in it that I'd like to replace. Does anyone supply original upholstery like the one in the photo?

You're going to need a DeLorean, flux capacitor, and 88 mph to find that material.

You can try contacting SMS auto fabrics, but the following quote is likely 100% correct:

You're going to need a DeLorean, flux capacitor, and 88 mph to find that material.

Let me ask the guy that does my upholstery. He knows where there is a "secret" supply of OEM fabric for GM trucks. He just got me OEM cloth for my 1986. If you can supply the RPO number for the color/pattern, I will have him check for price and availability. Below shows a seat he did for me a couple of years ago in Charcoal - the seat for my latest restoration hasn't been done yet.

I don't think any upholstery shop is going to want to do just the seat section on the driver's side - they may do just the whole bench or seat back, but probably just not sections. The material to do an entire seat (bench and back) goes for about $400 - and about another $400 for labor. He's in Nashua.

Thanks, Chengny. The RPO is 25V and the description is, "VDD1 Blue Vinyl Bench".
Hope this helps. I'm located in Central Mass. so NH is close to me.
Thanks again.

You needed the original cover I put on my seat. I thought it was black when I bought it.

I found it on the 67-72 message board in the 73-87 parts section.

I don't think the '86 style fabric is hard to find actually. Seems to be identical to the fabric used in a bunch of 80's and 90's Pontiacs.

Oh yeah, is that so? I'll kick his Greek ass - he made me think it was all but gone and he was some kind of hooked up upholstery guy with connections.

Well it is in limited supply, and you do have to get it from certain places. It's not like any upholstery shop will carry it. And some of the variations in color probably are a lot harder to find. But from my findings, you can still get it.

But some of the fabrics that were only used for two or three years on a specific model, those can be nearly impossible to find or just non-existent. And when you do find them, you pay dearly. The price you paid for your fabric was probably very fair.

Oh good, I haven't tried to kick anyone's ass in a long time - don't even know if I still can.

Looks very much like the white and orangy tan upholstery on my '79. Torn to heck and hidden under at least two tie on seat covers. Are there multiple colors of these available? Are they difficult to install?

Where is this message board located? I need one of these covers.
