we like to start off and thank you all for having me here, if anything I got a place to vent, I used to have an old '77k10 when I was younger love that truck!, so since now I have kids and enjoy fishing, my '90 c2500 just ain't getting it done. they, as well as I want a fun do anything truck, but mainly a truck I can get to places my c2500 just ain't doing. I bought a '74 k20 chevy. very neat truck for $700. the transfer case to t-case adaptor/extender is broken, I have looked all over can't find the part, or even anything close. I have an 4 speed tranny, Muncie I believe, to an np 203 t-case, the adaptors/extensions are like untalked about or darn near unheard of, lol. I did find out that '74 was about or the only truck year to get the np203. I did find one adaptor by using the case numbers on the broken adaptor. it's made to fit the 4speed and a np205. the np203 and np205 I find do not have the same bolt patterns. so that adaptor will not work. jeeze I just want to buy the part install it and at least use it. so far it's getting to be a real big headache, please help???? I do need to get the actual numbers on the tranny and t-case, just to be sure, I'm going off what the guys told me that I bought the truck from, and things I managed to pull up on the web, I searched this forum too and a few others, I bout to pull my hair out lol.

You might be better off finding an NP205 with an adapter for the SM465, and driveshafts to match if needed. Not sure your location but I have one on the basement floor feeling neglected and dejected. I thought the 203 was available up to 76 but I've only seen em behind the TH350. More people will chime in, hopefully tell ya what you need to know.

I had a 465 mated to a 203 years ago. It came only in 1974 model trucks. I sold it and switched to 465/205 combo later. I can't remember what I did as far as changing driveshafts though. I think I had to have a new rear one made and the front one cut but I am not sure. I would suggest switching them both out at the same time if it was me.

I'm in freeport, il, sounds like a lil bit of cash to pull this off, lol. which is ok, just gonna take longer than i thought. the 205 does sound like a better option tho. would I have to change shifter linkage too, which I'm guessing yeah, lol. they might could be available up to 76. just seen one websight that sounded like only the 74's had them. maybe an option with manual. not sure. what you want for it??? maybe your close enough,,,,damn just seen you was in WV. id I still lived in maryland this would work, grrrr, lol

right on, thought I had read that, about that year truck. maybe I can just go with the 205, sell the 203, believe people are wanting them for the double t-case builds.

The t-case linkage is just a handle attached to the adapter, and 2 rods coming out of the 205 attach to it. It's not the crazy complicated shifter like on the 203. Hit craigslist and see what you can find. For what it's worth, Offroad Design mostly sells 205 + 203 doublers and adapters for that kind of setup, and they are high dollar.

Offroad Design also has a bunch of stock adapter's and whanot sitting around from cases they have disassembled. It's where I got my adapter for my Ford C6 to my Ford 203.

I am all kind of beer budget, I rather sell the 203 to some one if I did go with the 205
