Hey Folks

NP203 Transfer case, 1976 K10, leaking, etc so someone suggested do a rebuild. I have everything apart, cleaned, ordered a seal and gasket kit – ready to go.

I was placing in the Front Differential Side Gear and noticed the 2 slots, at first not knowing the slots were there by design, I assumed I had heavy damage on only one side. Pulled the bushing/washer from the top, see photo, which had pressed thin metal strips peeling off, some damage. In the gear slots I noticed very stuck on metal and junk. Cleaned those out carefully, see photos, and it just looks damaged or poorly made. Looking at a couple for sale on eBay, coming out of those slots, there is a taper to the top, nice and clean, mine clearly looks messier.

Is this damage bad, worth replacing or was this thing one poorly machined originally? Noob on transfer cases, thanks in advance!

Also, does anyone know where you can buy that busing/washer?
