Greetings people! Looks like an excellent site & great resource. I purchased a 1979 C10 SWB Scottsdale in September of last year, so far I've used a Belle-Tech C-Notch to lower the rear about 6 inches. The 12 bolt got rebuilt with a Posi & 3.73 gears. In the front I used CPP Lowering Spindles with Belltech Lowering Springs and shocks for about 4.5 total, then I added Baer 14 Inch Big brakes with 6 piston Calipers and cross drilled & slotted rotors. Finally I installed UMI Performance front & Rear sway bars. I also Smoothed the main seam on the firewall in the tunnel, added all new brake lines, a Holley Sniper Fuel tank for the LS Swap. The motor is a 2001 5.3 liter which has been mildly built, I added full length ceramic coated headers and a March Performance Serpentine System, the 4L60E which was matched to the LS originally has been totally rebuilt and beefed up. I ordered the wheels & tires today which might cause a bankruptcy tomorrow, ha! What remains is fuel system plumbing, complete wiring job, paint, body, glass and interior.

I've already perused several threads and can't wait to read more....Cheers!

Thank you very much! I had an art teacher in high school that was from Austria, I have wanted to visit there ever since but have not had the pleasure yet.

Welcome, is that what a clean vehicle looks like? I thought mud was there to keep things from leaking. I bought a 95 2500 back in 97. It had Georgia clay coating the exhaust. Could never chip enough off to amount to anything so I so I left it that way for 300k when I sold the truck..

Welcome to the site, Jay.

Your truck looks like it's coming along nicely. I'll be watching your progress.
Can you tell me what transmission crossmember you have there in the 2nd photo?
I'm thinking the 4L60 and 700R4 would mount the same way?
Thanks

Pete Jr, thanks for the welcome! The cross member came from a company called BRP Hotrods. They have designed and built stuff for LS Swaps and it came with the motor mounts, fairly pricey but I love how they looked and work well together. They also do the headers and trans pans for lowered trucks and they all fit together without issues. I did get lucky and found the headers and different trans pan on Summit to save a couple bucks. here is a link to their web-site, I hope this doesn't violate site rules.

Good luck. . . .
