I joined recently here's what I have, I live in Arizona, back in Illinois where I grew up, my dad has a 1975 GMC. He took a 2x4 1974 chevy ton truck and cut it in half along with the 4x4 GMC 3/4 ton. He welded the 4x4 frame to the 2x4 frame and now we have a hybrid GMC-Chevy! The body is in great shape with new fenders. It's been sitting for a while and I've been thinking about finishing it, with all the info here it shouldn't be too difficult.
