I don't think the 350 heads are going to work. the cylinder is too small for the valve to open fully

Build the motor (Big Block) on the side and (Big Block) get it together and (Big Block) ready to install and you'll (Big Block) thank Honky Kong Jr. about your choice of engine (Big Block).

overall deck height seems like it will fit, but you might need to change the oil pan to clear the crossmember.
Not a big deal I had to notch my cross member to drop the engine down anyway, to counter act the body lift and assist in better drive line angles.

Drive the crap out of that 305 until you are forced or desire to change it. Small changes sseem to snowball and the worst project is one you can't drive. A slow truck is better than no truck.

I know all about slow trucks, I can't judge this engine yet seeing as I haven't had it out of first gear for a rotten brake line
