Ok so long story shortened, bought an 84 C-10 as I thought I would get started on a 4 wheel project. Wanted a truck to haul the race bike around with and always wanted an old Chevy (finally have bowties accross the driveway). Anyways, found it with only 157,000 original Km's on the 305. Truck is overall in good shape, with minor stuff going on that I thought would be a good starter project given to date everythign I have primarily worked on has been bikes. It had a few leaks, and basic stuff you would expect of a 30 year old truck. So far have replaced the fuel pump as the gasket was leaking oil, and figured for $35 from napa, might as well. The TH350 has had the filter replaced, and new gasket, but is still leaking. I think the pan might be warped Replaced the plugs and wires, and other than that all general maintenance stuff so far. Now, after going through everything and cleaning it up, I notice the intake gasket is weeping off the front, and the seals around the filler tube, vent lines etc. also think the carb is not running ideal, as it is way too rich, and when doing hte wires noticed it might be weeping fuel a little as well. Ok so that wasn't too short.
Ok on to the actual question:
Intake and carb combos that wont breakt he bank. Truck will be a regular driver, bike hauler etc. not looking for big power more reliability and ease of setting up. I noticed Jegs has their aluminum intakes for around $100?
