New Okie with an 84 K20

I'm Lance I'm from Claremore OK. I've got an 84 K20 That I bought from my buddies Dad he bought it in 06 my buddy got it in 07 and we ended up putting on a front clip after a tree jumped out in front of him. Then his brother got a hold of it and killed the original engine and put several others in it. A month ago his dad called him and told me that since I was like family I got first dibs. The truck followed me home. I was told it had a rod knock, and found a voretec 350 cost me 30 minutes and timing a tractor for an injection pump. come to find out that It may have just needed the torque converter bolts tightened when I started to pull the transmission loose. My buddies brother pulled the carb and distributor. So I'm going to stab the distributor and set a quadrajet on it and see what happens.

Thanks y'all. The old truck seems to be pretty solid it has a lot of potential, really just needs paint to become a slick old truck I can't wait to try my hand at laying down some paint on it. I think it will be a good learning experience.
