If you want help and advice, you have to do more than say I have a truck with a 350 and I want help on restoring it (which is what your post said before you edited it).

Spend some time searching here and on the web. These trucks are 30 years old, there's not a whole lot that hasn't been done. This is a great forum with a ton of knowledgeable people, and you'll get a long more help if you spell out what it is you want to do and need help with.

okay thanks i wanna paint it midnight blue and pearl white instead of the red and silver it is now. i am debating of bedlinging the interior. i also wanna swap my long box for a flat bed and build custom bumpers and add a lift to it and some bigger tires and fix the rust and probable next summer i will work on getting a new transfer case and rebuilding the rearend and possibly putting in a bigger axle but im still unsure on all that.

my first advice to your restoring process, clean the truck real good, I mean gunk the whole nine, then go to all those little rust spots and get alittle 30dollar can of POR15 from napa and just apply it and it will stop your truck from rusting, that dirt that sitting in the cab coners will make it rust in a season.

I only say this because you have a really good foundation to start with it looks like, whereas I started with a truck with missing cab corners and huge wholes in the floor

Nice truck body work done correct is a tedious process but can be learned that being said if your going to turn it inroads a offroad rig you probly are not going to try and make the body work perfect just good enough for a new color correct..and is your bed in as good of shape as it looks

if your light on patience (like I am) body work is not for you.

as for the lift vs flat bed, I would take the bed off see how it looks paint the rear half while its off and install the lift with no bed...so I guess kinda do both at the same time

Paint the back of the cab while the bed is off. For an off roader check out online "painting your car for $100". With inflation it's now $200.
