Just wanted to say hello to all of the other square body lovers out there.

I have had quite a few different chevy truck with most of them being in the square body style.

Just sold my 1962 Nova Wagon. So now to start work on what most people would use as just a

parts truck.

It is a 1976 Silverado K-10 SWB with a 400-350 all stock except where someone put in a sunroof that

broke. So it there great wisdom to fix it they put a piece of sheet metal over the hole and sealed it up

screwed it down. The tach works sometimes. Kind of like the rear tail lights on the 1994 bed that was used

to replace the stock one.

Over all the engine runs real good. Looks to have been rebuilt at one point. It would have been nice

it they would have got all of the gaskets in place so it didn't leak oil everywhere. It you were drilling for

oil. You would have hit it right on the button with as much oil comes out of this beast of a truck.

She is not good looking with the rust is on her. But she is paid for and will be a great starting place to go

from.

If it was mine I would clip the roof off at the A-pillars and middle of the back window. Pretty easy job once you get into it. I did one year before last on a 68 pickup I built. I had to go all the way down to near the cab floor as you could walk through the rear of my cab into the motorhome. yours would be easy peasy. In one day I cut off both roof and tack welded the donor in place. next day finished welding. I will try and post a few pics for reference. As you can tell from the pics below yours will be much easier to cut thru the rear window in the middle of the opening. you will only have to repair that small area. I wasn't so lucky. but it turned out great and was a piece of cake. I always leave about an extra 1/4 of material on the donor and sit it in place. The start whittleing it down tiny bit at a time till I get back to the desired opening.
