hey eveyone, i figured id introduce myself here. im brad, from hillsboro oregon. im new to trucks (just got out of the vw scene thank god) and im looking for some help with my ride. i picked up a 79 stepside with a 350 thats been dressed with nearly an entire edelbrock catalog and a 6" lift. other than getting about 6 mpg (its my daily) i love the truck. heres a pic of the first time i took it out, didnt wheel it but i was fairly impressed with it. it however doesnt like altitute... i found this out after it took about 6 tries to get the thing out of this spot haha. it just kept dying when i put it in reverse. its got a freshly rebuilt turbo 350 so i dont think its a trans issue but who knows.

Welcome! With a joint effort we should be able to get you well over 10mpg, sounds like she is running like ****. I have a 305 but am getting 16mpg highway, your truck is lifted but its not enough to completely ruin the mileage.

Welcome aboard. Yup, what everyone has said, you should be able to pull better MPGs. I get 12 in town in my rig.

Thanks guys! I think I made a good buy. I've been trying to get my tail lights to work all week and I finally got it except for the left signal. I think I'm just gonna need to do a tune up on the truck for better mpg. The previous owner kept really good records and there isn't any maintenance stuff like plugs and oil in them so ill ne doing that soon. Also, I've done some digging on Google and haven't been able to find the fuel capacity on these. Can someone help me out?
