New from Washington

Hey everyone! Been looking for a forum to do some research and learn more about my truck! I inherited a 79 K10 Silverado from my father when he passed away in 2006. I was never in a position to do much with the truck other than just keeping it running. I now have a job that can support some play time with the truck. I am looking to restore the truck because it is in pretty rough shape and needs an engine rebuild. I am very excited to do some work and some learning. This is my first 350 I have worked on. The truck is on it's second motor (which has been rebuild also) and has 500+ thousand miles on the body. My father was the original owner of the truck. I appreciate any help I can get from everyone on here. Thank you!

Welcome to GMSB. There is plenty of help here when the time comes. If you'd like, fire up a new thread in the under construction section, post a few pics of your 79 K10 and the ideas, thoughts and opinions will start right up. Also a great way to keep track and watch your own project evolve.

Most of us really like the ones that have a story and history behind them, especially the ones inherited or handed down from family.

That's cool you guys are new just days of each other. We have several members that are close to each other and get together for helping hands and parts swaps. Have some that are even a bit distant and have met half way for trailer loads of parts swaps. What an advantage for you 2.
