New from SC

[FRANKENTRUCK]

Hello all! I am from SC where old trucks are still quite common. I started my Chevrolet Custom Deluxe project about 4 years ago. I noticed an old rusted rotted ratty wreck of a truck in a neighbor's yard and approached him about it. It was a 1981 Chevy C10 stepside shortbed that had been in a minor accident. I bought it for $500 and towed it home. Over the years I have had 2 motors installed (neither worked out) and I also removed the old rusted-to-death parts from the body and replaced them with good metal parts from junkyard donors (more details later). Thus FRANKENTRUCK was born! I just recently had the old 6 cylinder engine and 350 turbo transmission removed and replaced with a brand new 350 and a used 700R4. Next up is the dual exhaust which should be done next week. Glad to be a member of this website!

I tried to use a picture of it as my avatar, but it would not download. I will put some pics in photobucket and put them up. The truck looks like a multi-color patchwork quilt with all the diferent fenders, bumpers, and doors on it! I almost named it Crazy Quilt instead of FRANKENTRUCK.
