Hey there, Just saying hi. Picked up a 87 R-10 longbed awhile back. Been sitting since about 2015 so shouldn't be toooo horrible lol.

About to start messing with that. Engine turns over fine so have to grab a new set of battery cables (if anyone knows good lengths thatd be awesome, single battery, passenger side) and a battery and see what she does. Looking forward to messing with it.

Welcome from the Tarheel State. It seemed that 87's were tough to find until I joined this forum a few years back and now it seems there are many still out there. Heck, I even have one myself now. Great looking truck and project that you have there and thanks for sharing the pics.

Welcome from "down-under"
I would suggest that you use a piece of string to trace the preferred route of your new cable, add an inch or so, and get your local part place to crimp the ends on for you. This is the method I use for all truck and machinery cables if I don't have a good original to copy. It is unlikely that a "standard" length recommended will do the job.
Make sure to allow enough for engine to frame flex, to fit through any grommets and or loom holding clips, and to account for the type and location of battery terminals that you are going to use ( with the battery correctly mounted with a hold down ) - eg. side v. top post, +ve left v. RHS etc.
