You're right, most want to go to the 3/4 ton axles for the heavier duty fun, but I have 2 4x4's. One is intended for the abuse which will be built for it, the other I keep with 10 bolts, is for light to moderate fun and bad weather but keeping the smaller axles to keep the cheaper tires, lighter weight and better mpg, so I do intend to break an axle occasionally and so what if I do. They are dime a dozen and I can't see upgrading to D60 fronts when those who have them think they got a piece of gold when they actuallly have a heavy ass low to the ground expensive to maintain hunk of ****. You give up alot to have that Dana 60 strength so I don't see the spending of the $800-$1000 to have one, when I can break Ten 10 bolts and still be ahead of the game, and keep my ground clearance, cheaper parts and better mpg instead of pushing that heavy slug up front around the city streets. Would I have a D60??? Hell yes, I'd suffer the losses with gain in weight, loss of ground clearance and compensate for my build for that, but I damn sure not going to overpay for one. I'll spend the big bucks for lifts and tires, but not axles.
