I have been looking everywhere for a forum just for square bodies!!! I was/am also always on 67-72 chevy trucks forum, but info on that site is sometimes limited...

I've been working on my build for about 5 years now. This is my first build so I hope all the pros will bare with the newbie questions. I bought a 76 C10 Cust.Delux in 07-08, and busted it down to the frame. Added four link adjustable coilovers, tubed upper and lower control arms (3" drop), and a new rear gas tank. The floor pans and rockers weren't in that good of shape, so about a month ago I found a 86 GMC in very good condition (A/C, power locks/windows/steering) NO RUST!!!! So I am currently swapping cabs.

As of right now the motor thats going in it is a 350 w/ 2.02 comp lifters, springs, and XE274h cam (I think that the right part#). Will try to save up to build a stroked LS. At this point I'm just ready to get it on the road for the time being.

Well thats about all I got...Look forwaed to learning from everyone on here!

The 87-92 cores make better builders for the 700r4. They have more of the updates in them. Once you get the better case of 87 up, then you can even use some of the updates out of the 4L60-E's and 4L65-E's as far as the hard parts, like 5 pinion planetaries if you feel the need. Smartshell etc. But you can use the Beast and you're good to go in that department. Just do some research when you get ready. There are some good threads here in the Trans and Driveline section on how to identify 700r4's etc.

clkelly: thanks!

HotRodPC: Good Becasue I know very little when it comes to Trans. I am trying to decide if I want to atempt to tackle a rebuild myself, or buy one built. At this point I'm trying to see cost wise which is a better route to go. I know personally I would like to rebulid it myself, just for the simple fact I would know what parts went into it. Rather than someone saying that they used all quality parts, but really cut corners.... just how I am! At the same time money is getting a bit tight (getting the stank eye from the wife)
