My name's Mike and I'm from L.A. (Lower Alabama). I'm married with one child, a daughter who loves to ride in her daddy's truck. I've got an 87 4x4 that's in pretty good shape. It still has the 2 post radio in the dash, which is hard to find around here. Been checking the site out now for a while and figured if I was looking at it that much, may as well join up. Gotta say, the Ralleye looks like fun.

I'll get some posted pretty quick. At work right now and will have to get them from the house.

Welcome to GMSB Mike. My young daughter loved riding in my 64 GMC back in my younger days. She's 24 now and multiplied into 2 more daughters and a son in the oven. The gdaughters love riding in my ugly squarebody trucks. The like driving around in the tow trucks better though. They have a cord hanging from the roof that makes a real loud honk sound.
Post pics when you get a chance. Hang out, and don't be easily offended by the craziness.

Thanks for the good words. I took some pics with my phone, but I'm having trouble attaching them. When I fired the old girl up today, I got a surprise. Gas pouring on the ground under the fuel tank. Looks like I'll be dropping the tank on my next off day. :yucky:

Well, it took me awhile, but here are the pictures of my truck. It's a 87 Custom Deluxe 4x4 with a 350/700R. It has never been lifted, stock ralley wheels, and still has the 2 post radio. The transmission was rebuilt last year and is already acting up. The radiator tends to lose its cool, but that's why they invented jugs to haul extra water around, right? The body was REALLY straight, until a deer tried to jump through the driver side window. That door will need some work. But all in all, I think it's still a really good truck. All in all, we have fun in the truck, and that's what it's all about for me. Guess I'll be taking some more pictures this week of the gas leak fix.

That's a great solid looking truck. Pretty much just about all original too huh. I'm like you in that way. I don't mind customizing, but when they're this old and almost all OEM, those are the ones you want to keep OEM. There are plenty more out there that can be butchered up and customized since they've been changed already. 2 of my current 5 still have the 2 posts for the radio. As much as I hate to, at least one of them is gonna have to get cut for a Single Din stereo install.

VERY nice truck, I tried so hard to find one of those radio's to go in my truck, I wanted to OEM look inside and the wild look outside..Impressive no matter who walks up..father or son!

Keep this truck stock, I love it..welcome aboard!!

Thanks! I'm kinda leaning towards subtle changes like MAYBE one piece door glass. Really want to put a tach in the dash. Found a winner in that department on a thread here. Don't really want to change the overall feel of the truck, just make it look stock AND be more driver friendly. First is fixing my fuel leak and replacing the radiator. Gotta be practical.

That one piece glass is a nice option but EXPENSIVE. Not so sure why really, but IIRC seems like it's $600 or so. A bit ridiculous if you ask me. Get it down to about $200 where it should be, they might sell the hell outta that glass.
At least those mods you speak of can be reversed, but really you've got not a nice enough OEM truck there, I'd keep it all OEM if it were me and get me another for all the custom ideas. At least keep it the OEM colors, and don't butcher of cut anything and it can all be reversed. I know not all people are stupid as me and think you need 5 squarebodies to do all the different mods you want to do.

Most definitely any modification will be reversible. Don't want anything I couldn't return to stock in a couple of days. The radio I want is still 2 post, but has the CD changer hookup. Going to even go back with the rubber floor, just a newer one. That's a must seeing as how this truck is my hunting ride. Hell, deer are just DYING to ride on back of it! (Sorry, a little corny but sounded funny to me after working off of nights.) :sleepy:
