Welcome from Malvern,Ar I have and 1984 GMC Jimmy 4x4 high Sierra 6.2L I’m sure later you will need 6.2L help. Reach out to me. Also the steering slop could be a broken frame at the steering box. That’s worst case. It would have to be severe to be that sloppy. Also it could be wore out from end parts. You will need to have some one move the steering wheel back and further and you will see movement in the front steering that moves before the tires move. That part that moves but the tires don’t is wore out. Also ball joints and wheel bearings. Let me know when you test the steering joints and you get to the ball joints and wheel bearings and we will guide you trough the process of troubleshooting them. Everybody here are great people and will help with everything. Good luck and reach out if you need help

Welcome from KC
Check other salvage gm vehicles for the rear door actuator. I found a actuator for my 86 gmc out of a corvette close in year exactly the same. Mounting bracket was different but I had the one from my truck.

Welcome from utah!!!
First thing I’d check on that noise on the right side of your dash is your blower motor for your heater etc. The “squirrel cage” is probably dragging on the housing.

Bad ass Burbon. Good luck with your barn doors and dash grinding. My first thought was the clock but then you said it's louder at certain speeds.

Is that actuator different than the others?
Try cleaning and lubing the mechanism and checking the connections for corrosion.
My old barn doors leaked badly. The hinge seals get brittle and crack. Rotted out the bottoms.

Nice looking Suburban.

Check the harmonic balancer on the 6.2. Any signs of cracking in the rubber of it, I’d change it out.
