This Blazer is the best plow truck I ever had. It does much better with the 8' blade but it actually fits in the garage with the 7.5. They are great because of the turning radius and they fit anywhere yet they still have the nuts to really push some snow. It does a really good job on driveways with a lot less tracking. I had no problems in the past plowing with a half ton except for trucks with whipped springs. New leaf springs or an Add-a-leaf make a world of difference. The air bags are nice too. I had them on my old K30. I used to overload that truck on a regular basis.

Yeah I drive this thing all the time. I used to drive it just to drive it. It has more beach and trail miles on it than anything but I used to take it upstate and to PA and Ohio and stuff, Its been to Florida a bunch of times too. It has 3.08's in it so I can go anywhere without revving high. It came from GM with 2.73's in it and I swapped them out for 3.73's but stepped down a few months later to 3.42's. I was driving it 6 days a week to college and work and ended up doing about 120 miles a day minimum, sometimes 180 miles a day depending on where I had to go for work. Thats how I ended up with 3.08's again. it was either that or an NV4500 swap and I didnt have the money for it.
As for the rollover, I was having fun with a buddy of mine and 2 girls we were friendly with. We went for a ride in the trails by my old house and I told the girls to buckle up. We had the cap off and jokingly I told them if it looked like we were going over to tuck down and hug your legs (nice thing about girls that did gymnastics... Ohh yeah...) to make a long story short they weren't buckled in, went flying out along with my toolbox and amplifier and recovery crate and I ended up down the hill about another 200' from where they were in a washout. I was trying to steer out of it but the ground got real loose and just gave way. The truck rolled over and if it weren't for the cap being off, we wouldn't have been able to get out. I was about 10' from the edge where it dropped off and the whole land mass just let go. Def. a wild ride! As we were hanging from the seatbelts I shut it off. My buddy looks and says "hey look! the console stayed shut!" as he turns the knob and everything goes flying all over the truck. It was one hell of a long night getting the truck back out of the hole and on all 4's but once we did I was able to drive it to work the next day. The truck kind of fit in the washout like an upside-down plug. I guess the fact that it was mostly dirt and soft sand really saved the truck. Almost everything buffed out.

Here is my old 1984 GMC 3500 I sold not too long ago. It was all original minus a bed swap with a less hacked up one. Someone tried making a 4wd wrecker out of it but never completed it and just made a mess out of it. I tried returning it back to stock but I ended up breaking my foot and was out of work for 2 months and had to downsize drastically in a short period of time. This thing was sweet. i had an almost new 454 with it also. factory SM465, NP205 D60?14B FF with helper springs.

And if I aint allowed to drive it, I'll just open the hood and stare at the engine compartment, lean on the radiator support, and drink a few beers, doing the occasional walk around and lookin at stuff on the rest of the truck and kickn a tire here and there....

This is the shot of the truck after I pulled the remains of the boom out of the back of it. it had a botched up Holmes that was not done right at all. The only thing done right on this truck was the frame was boxed from the trans crossmember under the cab to just past the spring hangers. The white wrecker was my 79 2wd I thought about converting to 2wd.

Yeah that compressor was being replaced with a york belt driven unit mounted above the power steering pump where a stock ac compressor would have been. That thing didn't put out nearly enough air and used to eat drive belts. it was only good for the air horn. I painted it rustoleum royal blue out of the quart cans. I thinned it out and sprayed out out of the gun. I never got to put the new stuff on it like the doors and fenders and hood, I practically gave it to the guy for $500. I sold it to him so cheap I didnt give him anything that should have went with it. I never got around to the 454 swap because the 350 ran fine. The truck only had 115k on it. I wish I could have kept it. I still think about it. It was a very tight truck for an old clapped out 1 ton work truck.

Yeah that was my old shop. I split it with a crook. The guy was robbing me blind. I took care of that situation. I always wanted a wrecker too, and someone owed money for a dealership I was working at so I told him I'd pay off his tab if he'd give me his old wreckers. He had 2 of them. I'll see if I can dig up some more pics on my old computer. Both C30's , one of them was a 75, the other a 79. I put the 79 together and played with it, then sold it when the neighbors complained about the towing depot and storage yard at my house... damn neighbors. That thing was great but I really should have had something on it other than headers and straight pipes with cherry bombs before the rear axle

here is the 79 again with the new doors, but the old fenders. I ended up getting rid of the stupid zig zag in the blue stripe and made it more like the factory 2-tone paint jobs

In the background of this last picture you can see the 1975 Wrecker next to the 1973 K20, on the far side of that was the 84 K5, and the truck in the foreground was the other guys 85 K5. Looked great on the outside but this thing was shot! It had pushed snow its whole life, was on its 3rd or 4th engine, who knows how many transmissions, and the rears were swapped. If you opened the doors the body sagged in the rockers and the roof creaked. The new style bumper in the background was the parts truck to my old 90 K2500

Not a Square GM but it was a fun truck. I sold it because lifted IFS sucks! I'll take a new truck for a DD but other than that I want everything old. I'd have so much more if I had a place to keep it
