Poor old girl!

:(

His mirror glue lasted 23 years - wut da fark is wrong with mine ?
:dogpile:
wasn't there a thread on the car mirrors on trucks. Someone had osted that the catalogue showed a truck with car mirrors but it was not an option.

This one seems like original paint and original mirrors.

Oh, I am belly aching about my never ending always falling rear view mirror in the truck.

I never cared for the "car mirrors" - the little mirrors that came on the typically lower trim optioned truck as they don't seem big enough to be useful.

But, my .02.

My bad. Looking back at the comments now I see you were talking about the glue on the mirror, not those itty bitty things it has.

Hello Goldie! I hope all is well. I dont know if maybe you would like to try this next time it falls off. Get that 2 part epoxy, but before you glue it draw an outline with a Sharpy marker then try getting a small piece of 220 sandpaper scuff it a little then clean it with acetone or thinner.

Just throwing it out there. I did that to an old Nova i Had at one time and it took for the remainder of the time I owned it.

Be well and stay safe out there.
Best wishes to you and all of your loved ones always!

Those bumpers are fake without the FL/GA/AL/MS/OK/TX dealership they came from welded onto the plate... Just sayin'...
Bailey was a manufacturer of aftermarket bumpers.

I foolishly let this one get away from me, and would like to replace it

Bailey's is cool too... they should have welded the name on the bumper, in my humble opinion...
The bi-metal sticker (if that's what it is...) kinda insults me is all...
If it's painted on then pardon me for guessing wrong...
Thousands of GM trucks came with a dealership welded logo bumper... I think they look cool.

The mirror glue is good for you! Do not sniff it!
The cleaning solvent is supposed to be Xylene... if your kit came with a bio-friendly activator, (and it's not xylene), then your mirror will keep falling off. The glass or the door panel where you stick the corporate side view mirror, has to be perfectly clean in a chemical way, (not a make believe way...)

Planned obsolescence... deal with it or buy xylene as the cleaner activator and your mirror will stick for decades.
Xylene will rot your liver with a quickness... wear the chem gloves and the mask... NO B/S.

Mirror issue solved.
Cool bumpers? Who's got one?

Looking at the photos in the CL listing, the truck doesn't appear to be eaten with rust. If I was younger, and had the range of motion back in all my joints, I'd offer him $400 and head SE with my truck and trailer!

None of those are drop bumpers.

I’ve still got the dealer bumper on the 65 C10 my grandfather bought new, though

Got a close buddy that lives in Mt Vernon Is that where the last truck is from, the old Teague and Son Chevrolet?

Agreed. My bad for not recognizing the drop... So many people tow with improper leveled hitches... really bothers me here on the ranch too.
Towing with only the rear axles hitting dirt, with the equalizers maxed out... breaking the suspension, as if it doesn't matter...
Makes me sick... TBH

$400 for a not rotten roller with a clean title?
Let's find somebody to rescue this locally!

If the rot monster hasn't ruined the frame yet, it's worth the effort.
Hope it find's a new home.

I'de re-open that dealership with the right backing...
We should save it too. Re-sell old square's exclusively...
Make it look like it did in 1970-1987... classic used old squares only.

Let's form a consortium of "Old Square Body Aficionado's" (OSBA's) and start a Classic Square Body physical TX Dealership and drive the market?

Who's got oil well money and needs a tax write off?

"JJ's Used Chevy's" or "JJ's Garage"... Got a ring to it?

We could film an OSBA TV show... "TX SQRBody Customs" at JJ's Garage.
Maybe Jimmy Johnson can hire Jesse James to host it?

I'll shoot and produce it with the right backing...

LMC... SummitRacing, Jegs, RockAuto, SpeedWayMotors... we need a sponsor or FIVE...
Rusty can be our P/R manager... then he don't have to run anywhere... Rusty can just hang out and get rich.
;)
