Hi guys! Daniel from Sweden here. Just bought myself a 1978 chevy c10 pickup.

Have big plans for it but having 3kids the time will not be on my side.
Main usage will be using it as a trailer .. picking up things for our house etc.
But my wife wants to leave and pick up our to boys from school once and a while so i kinda want to lift it alittle just to give it that cooler look.
Might buy new rims and tires in the near future aswell.

My wife works as a forest officer but i dont think she will be taking it out offroad but the looks should be there :)

What should i aim for? i think i want it up maybe 2" all around.. was first looking at a body lift but what should i aim for?
Will be ordering from summit so if the parts is there i'll be glad.

Here is pics from Baltimore a few days ago (ready to get shipped to Sweden):

That's a nice looking truck. personally I wouldn't do a body lift. In fact I wouldn't lift it at all being a two wheel drive. I have had my C10 plenty of places one wouldn't think you could go in stock form.

Don't know the answer to your question but it will be pretty cool having a C10 in Sweden. Are there many over there?

No that was the thing... i looked for over a year here in Sweden but couldn't find anything worth buying and there wasn't much of'em.
Think i might have overpayed tho if you count all the shipping and taxes costs but i just wanted a c10 :).

I would stay away from bodylifts if possible. If you're dead-set on it, maybe do the hocky puck lift at most to gain an inch to fit slightly bigger tires. Otherwise I would just go with tires and and a good locking differential in the back. It looks too nice to change it too much!

A decent set of tires, a good posi unit or selectable locker and call it good to go!

Ok u guys might be right! But i feel like it sits just alittle to low. New tires (with white text)might just do the trick but then another question..how big can i go there?

Body lifts especially at 3" will start to cause issues because of lengthening of components... bumpers need moving... gas tanks need moving.. Body lifts just are :doublepuke:

At the very minimal I'd put a 1" on my truck but that is it.

I'm fairly certain that the BL kit includes steering and fuel tank extension. Bumper brackets and gap guards are optional.

Its far more than that.. Shift linkages may need modifying... radiator needs to done properly.. trust me its not just slap on a 3" BL and go.

Not to mention that the bolts are constantly needing to be retightened.

Looks like this was covered before.

http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4004&page=2

My R3500 sits at least 4" taller than my C10. I know the control arms are different too but heavier springs will bring it up a ways. I put heavy springs in my 71 C10 and it brought the truck up almost 2".
