Why not take it back again and get them to replace it? Or try a different store if they’re being dicks about it.
I’m actually surprised they tested it.

Many decades ago I had a delco Internal regulator those were fairly new then, eating me up it would randomly quit charging, I finally got lucky and I believe they called it a diode trio or rectifier bridge any how it connected the diodes to the output it tested open with an Ohm meter went and got another, 15 minutes later with the new part they both test with good continuity, we put the new one in and never had another problem with that alternator.
We beat the old part around and used heat and cold and the old one tested good every time, electrical gremlins can drive you crazy.

Verify the quality/integrity of the alternator B+ output wire -- fully insulated for its whole length, with solid, clean connections at both ends. Also be sure the alternator case is properly grounded. Obvious, yes, but you never know.

Apparently these trucks have an output sensor on the negative battery cable. I found this on Facebook. Don't know if it applies to your truck.

This is on my daughters 2014 Silverado. Alternator went out about 3 months ago and also ate the battery in the process. Replaced both and have had no issues until last week. She called and said the Battery Saver Mode came on. Made it back home. Put a meter on the battery and the alternator was not putting out. Took it back to Oriellys where I got it. They tested and said it was good. Put it back on and it was putting out. Now it will work for a short period and then quit. Alternator breaking down under a load? Something else? Looked for bad connections but could not find anything. I just need to get this thing fixed so I can get rids of it and get here something newer. It has 283k on the clock.
GM has some kind of smart charge system That you may want to do some research on

Its called RVC or RCV something, something that changes charge state, to wake the alternator up to charge the battery, don't quote me. I'm old and memory sucks...

This is the ticket right here. Unplug that biotch and all good just like any other old alternator. Well, now I at least have a spare. Thank you for the help.

and you are getting rid of this 2014 pickup like "thing", so hope you can return any spare alternators you have for it.

alternators make great boat anchors, wheel chocks, door stops, or toe stubbers / crushers. before you make time to get to the recycler.

Have to get my daughter something more reliable. Have other vehicle issues i won't go into just yet as I haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do. May wind up keeping this thing for a little while and driving it to work and back. It's less than 3 miles and it's not like I don't have two square bodies and a camaro in an emergency. Vehicle poor around here.
