I live on the Ms Gulf Coast and I am posting this as whats left of Isaac blows outside. Over the years I have owned many GM trucks. Including a rusty 1972 1/2 ton, a 1979 heavy half, 1980 short bed stepside(bought this one new for 5000 dollars), 1990 short bed, 1992 short bed GMC, 1995 king cab, 1996 2 door tahoe, 1996 4 door tahoe, 1999 3/4 ton van and 1995 2 door blazer. Of those only the van is still mine. What brought me here is my newest truck, a 1989 2wd 1500 Suburban. It has a tbi 350 and auto transmission, peeling clearcoat, and a lot of (I hope) little problems.
I help my wife run" Eco-Tours of South Mississippi ", we do swamp and marsh tours on the Pascagoula River, we also do guided kayak trips. We have 5 trailered boats ranging from 15 to 26 ft and while we have a ford f250 and a 3/4 ton Dodge van, needed an extra tow vehicle so enter the Suburban. It will be used for towing the three smaller boats and because of the third row seating it will be used to transport kayakers. This site looks like it will be an excellent resource.
