been super busy and haven’t gotten around to taking care of this. I was digging around in the distributor tonight and I noticed my rotor is pretty shot. Not sure how the contact got so deteriorated but it is a cheap aftermarket piece I put on about a year ago. Slapped a new MSD cap and rotor on and hopefully it stays alive under load now. Going to drive around a couple days and we if I have anymore trouble.

Well, put new cap and rotor on and nothing. No spark at all. After some tinkering I went ahead and put a new ignition module in. Engine started right up. So my diagnosis is that the cheap rotor contact tip broke/burnt off. Then the ignition module had to work harder to help the spark jump the bigger gap. This overheated the module and burnt it out.
