MAP Sensor

Hay All
Chevy Burb 1989 200,425 miles Running pretty good slight idle skip at stops
Poor fuel mileage not new 11 MPG
So I decided to test the MAP Sensor, Using a Voltmeter and vacuum pump
Connected to Neg battery and middle green wire connected vac to MAP Sensor
Turned ignition on no start volt read 3.8v should be around 5v
Pulled vacuum and voltage dropped like it should?
Engine runs fine
Leave it alone?
Replace it with a Napa one?
Replace it with Delphi
Replace it With AC Delco GM

On my '87 I gradually replaced every electronic component I could simply because everything was original to 1987. I place little confidence in the "Butt Dyno" but honestly felt that everything I replaced made a slight but noticeable difference in how it ran.

The MAP sensor just seemed like a part that needed replacing based on age alone.

It's not expensive and it's not difficult to change. Why not change it? Once that is done you can focus on other issues.

FYI..........MAP and coolant are primary sensors for fuel control, 02 is secondary.

Replaced the MAP Sensor from "NAPA" made a significant adjustment, Idles Much Better
AS Fuel Economy i will have to see
