Manual choke won't work right on 79 Rochester 3GC carb

Why are your secondary air doors wide open. They should be closed about 90 percent of the time. That's a quadrajet carbureator. So the 2gc stuff isn't correct.

I opened them to show it was a four barrel. I'm probably going to rebuild the engine or put my 292 in it so I guess it's going to be sitting for a while because I've got a few other projects to do this winter. It's going to be a big job because I need to swap the tranny and T case out and while those are out would be a good time to weld some big floor patches in
