Why would you say that? When you wrap them a greater part of the heat exits the exhaust and not radiantly flooding the engine bay and melting plug wires and what not.

Easiest/quickest way to destroy a set of headers, back in the Altered days I knew guys that wrapped headers, but at the end of the day the wrapping came off..

Well yeah if your gonna run balls out with it all the time but to keep engine compartment temps down on a driver it’s a viable option

No, that's even worse, header gets hot you shut it down, outside temp is cold header hot= condensation= rust, and this happens every day on a daily driver, I know two people that did it and lost brand new headers in less than a year..

Reading about the cup guys replacing headers ouch we all know they are cheap lol and the wrap was pretty much what was holding them together after a race the hp advantage is for just before the header collapses lol
