On my dual tank set up I had wired the switch valve wrong which would cause the return circuit to not flow correctly and would drive my fuel pressure up.

I'd make absolutely certain the return line is free flowing before spending money on anything...

I believe he's running returnless right now,and wanting to go to a bypass regulator due to possible quality control issues with the Corvette filter/pressure regulators.

Corvette style "returnless" regulators still use a return line...

Difference is the filter, regulator and return are one assembly that is mounted closer to the tank as opposed to the regulator and return fitting being part of the fuel rail

Thank you @CalSgt, Good to know I thought people were running these instead of a return line.Should have thought that through better. First time I've seen one. In that case just so everyone who didn't already know if you're return line is kinked or plugged it raises fuel pressure doesn’t matter what kind of regulator. If you take a bypass regulator, set it for 60lbs then pinch the return line shut your fuel pressure will be fuel pump maximum pressure, regardless of where your regulator is set. I installed a ball valve in my return line so I can restrict or bypass however much fuel I want,to raise and lower my fuel pressure. Let's make a simple example of this, drill a 1/2 hole in your garden hose then turn it on,the pressure coming out of the end of the hose will be reduced, cover the hole with your thumb the pressure comes up. That's how your regulator works it as a metered leak back to the tank to reduce pressure. If it can't bleed back to the tank or it can't bleed back fast enough the pressure goes up.

This is what I run in my truck, pressure stays right at the proper 58psi as long as I stick with a AC Delco/Genuine GM or a Wix. I've tried a couple other brands and they either allow too much pressure (70psi on one) or too little (42psi on another). Or they leak.
