Howdy gents,

I have a question and want your opinion about my stance. I have a c20 with drop shackles in the rear and removed the helper leaf spring so I think my rear is lowered 2.5-3 inches (old springs might have some sag).

The front has western chassis 3” drop coils and 2.5 drop spindles.

My main question is does this look out of wack having so much rear rake? The rear is around 2-3 inches higher than the front. Obviously this affects handling too but want your opinion if it would look better to maybe get some western chassis drop leafs (4” drop) for the rear?

Well, I mean, you know, opinions are like assholes…right?
Personally I think squarebodys in particular with the lower rear fender opening than the front look squatty if truly leveled. Whereas matching how the wheels are framed in the wheel well looks better. (Equal gap or coverage from top of wheel well opening to tire)
I think your burb looks perfect like it sits.
Plus I prefer to have a little positive rake even in a “leveled” truck, in general.

I'm on the opposite end of this opinion machine. If it were my truck, I'd want it within 1" or so of level (just because 'burbs especially look like they're squatting when dead level). I think my plan of attack would be a 6" rear flip. Maybe also a 1" lift shackle if there is such a thing for these trucks (I know they exist for '99-07), that would get you to 5" of drop. Of course, that would then necessitate a TinWorks 'burb notch (which I believe also has a built in helper bag mount which is a plus) and it looks like you might possibly have some tire/wheel lip interference you'd have to deal with. But it would look awesome I can tell ya that, my buddy's '77 big block looked fantastic with a flip kit and drop spindles/springs.

Thanks for all your replies! Wonder if a spring perch replacement would work? 1 more inch?

I'm not super familiar with 'burbs and don't have one to go look at here, I guess the first thing to do would be to look under it and see if the front perches could be moved at all. On a pickup, you can get away with knocking out the rivets and just moving it up, using some existing holes and drilling a couple new ones. Not sure if there's room to the floor on a 'burb

Doesn’t even look like anyone makes perches for the burbs. Western chassis makes a 4” drop leaf spring but it’s $800 so I was looking to something cheaper.

Spoke with western chassis, springs won’t be made for a long time. They told me to remove a leaf or 2

Imho, looks great how it is.

Also @txaggie I'd still really like to know where to find one of those front air dams, lol.

Has anyone ever removed a leaf or 2? I only want to get one more inch of drop in the rear but I know removing leafs one at a time will be a gamble.

Can you tell if leaves have been added in? I ask because it's quite common. If so, I'd start by just pulling just one of those.

Original pack, never tampered with.
