Lowered 4" with OEM Shocks

On a 83 C10 has anyone had any luck lowering the rear 4" and still using OEM shocks or do you have to change them, I looked at the shock extenders but dont like the look

Shock extenders will bring your shocks back to a more verical position. Without them, your ride quality will suffer.
