Was wondering if someone could help me figure out what the issue I'm having us, it just recently started doing this. There is loud clicking noise coming from the engine an I'm not sure what it could possibly be

I have the exact same thing on my 1987 TBI 350, noticed it last night. If its like mine, sounds like an electrical "snapping" almost. I'll be watching to see what people come up with.

My noise is totally random, may have a couple clicks, then none for a bit, then a few more, its not a constant clicking. Would rocker arms do that as well?

Leaky spark plug wires. Look under the hood at night to see if you see sparking, not that always will be a 100 percent test. They can leak without you seeing it also.

I always thought intermittent clicking was the lifters or piston slap. Those old W-body Chevrolet V6 were real bad for both of those.

2 X this:

Looks like Leo has left the house. But for Mattchu60, do as above.

If nothing shows up try; Leave the hood closed. With the engine hot and running, lay on your back and scoot under the engine (facing up). Look around on both sides - especially near the exhaust manifolds and cylinder heads.

Any leakage from the ignition secondaries to ground should be easy to locate.

If that test doesn't reveal anything, but you still suspect an arcing issue, try this:

Do the test again but this time let the engine cool down completely. Then, just before starting up, spray the engine down with a fine mist from your garden hose. This should provide a good path to the engine/frame and make it easier to see any plug wire to ground leakage.

While it is still wet, start it up and get back under for another look.

Take a long screwdriver or a piece of a sawed off broom handle, about two foot long, hold the screwdriver/broom handle against the alternator front bearing, place the handle end firmly against Your ear, see what kinds of noises comes through, try the various idler pulleys mounts then the power steering front bearing area. it could be You have a bearing going out in one of them devices, do`nt forget to include the front of the coolant pump too.
Grasp the top of the fan blades, with the engine shut off and try moving the blades fort and back, see how much wobble You get out of that.

FOUND IT! Ran is when it was dusk, saw arcing on the coil. I assume this means a bad coil, any suggestions on a good stock replacement from someplace like advance auto?

Well it doesn't always happen, if I drive my truck Calmly like a normal person it won't sound like that, it seems as if I accelerate and run my truck it'll start the clicking and seems to interfere with the way my exhaust sounds. Idk guys I'm havin trouble figuring this out.
