If were turning this into rocket science I have an idea? Identify the ports you're actually going to use. Then take a pair of vice grips and remove the unused port nipples. Two suggestions to fill the hole depending on your level of OCD and anal retentiveness:

a. Tap the hole and install set screw.
b. Dab of JB Weld.

Have a beer, pat yourself on the back and worry about bigger issues. :cheers:

Try going to a parts store...check the Dorman bins...this way you can put your hands on them .I didn't care for the vinyl caps either...

I just use a short piece of hose with a stainless Allen round head bolt in it.

Not trying for show car status. Trying to have it last without looking like ****! You just have a certain image in your head about what it should look like.

Thanks for the ideas guys! A few good options here.

The ones i had were Dorman I believe, or close to it, they feel nice and pliable new, but after a couple months they either split completely or start cracking.

Dorman makes a lot of crappy rubber parts that go to pieces in a hurry, and they refuse to replace them. But why would you want to replace crap with more of the same crap?

@ PrairieDrifter,

Moroso makes high temp caps for carbs and anything else like that. I've had good luck with them. You get a pretty big bag of them, all different sizes, and colors.

@PrairieDrifter,

That's like me, I don't want to have to think about checking anything like that unless a problem occurs, then I'll look but I would in the process of checking anyway. But I don't want to always be thinking, "Oh, let me check those caps!" No! I want to drive my truck, stop and get gas, and drive my truck. If I open the hood it's to check the oil or trans fluid and only if I think about it I will grab a hose or something. But I'm not going to take the time to take the air cleaner off for anything unless I think I have a problem under there. Other than that I want to be driving my truck.
