Just recently got my license, and the one idea that has stuck with me for years is building myself a big ass chevy. Now that i have a job ive been getting my priorities straight, and hopefully by end of summer ill be ready to buy my project. Just wondering if it would be realitic for me to look for an already lifted truck, with a solid body for around 2000. Don't mind if theres work involved, just dont wanna throw down ridiculous money for a suspension lift right off the bat (since thats the only way i would go) and body work is neither mine or my dads specialty lol. dont have the most equipped shop, but the big thing i wanna focus on is the motor. any suggestions on where to look for an actual truck or cheap parts. Anything is appreciated, thanks guys.

yeah i'm pretty farmiliar with craigslist from buying and selling dirtbikes and quads. Mostly what i've been finding are either beat up k20 plow trucks, fully restored trucks for like 5k or more, or complete beaters for like a grand

You may have to widen your search an hour or two to get some better options.

Your best bet is going to be driving several states south to buy a truck. The few hundred you will spend in gas will save you 3K on the purchase price. If your priorities are a good body and already lifted, it's your only option for what you are looking to spend.

What andy said
You dont want an old plow truck or anything from the rust states.

The first truck here is already lifted and has southern sheet metal.

yeah my dad was saying the same thing a couple of days ago. i just need the money to get a car hauler and some cash to buy the old cars. there would be so many classic cars that would be rust free and make perfect restorations

best place to go would be indian reservations cuz they got tons of old cars and theyll sell them cheap for cash
