In the famous words

"Well theres your problem" -Mythbusters

So i started off I knew the timing on my engine was off quite badly. just gonna check the timing of my engine. so i got the light and went to it. Well timing is right at 4 Degrees BTDC like its supposed to be. And i think...Hmmm I pull the distributor cap and Taa Da! Boy arent those puurrtty.

then i went and got me a Accel performance Distributor cap and button kit.

Oh boy dont she run a whole world better!!

And on a side note. My truck used to diesel sometimes when its cut off. and i believe i found a new reason to cause this. The little metal peice thats part of the three pins that the connector hooks to and and also ground to the coil to kill fire was rusted up. i believe mine dieseled because of this not making a good ground on occasion to kill the coil.

That shows you have have high resistance at either the wires or plugs. That's what would do it

Yea high resistance outside of the cap will do it.

in my opinion that was el cheapo cap and rotor, not the greatest tolerances. for the contact to be bent like that I would say it made contact with the cap. you replace with a quality set so you should be ok. unless your distributor is worn out allowing the shaft to jump up and down. did you check for this? highdesertranger
