Does any one have any info on how can I convert my long bedroom a short bed. It's a project that I'm working on. My truck originally is a short bed but it rusted out. So I have a long bed in excellent shape and trying to see if I can fit it with some cutting and welding

There is plenty of info, on converting a long bed to a short bed. You basically cut 14 inches out of the frame behind the cab, and if I remember correctly it's a few inches off the rear. Please do some research those measurements are from my memory, and it's not as sharp as it used to be. LOL. I do know making a Zach cut is preferred it's a stronger weld when putting it back together, and don't forget to make some fish plates.

Perhaps it would be easier to sell the long bed and buy a nice short bed? I think you would have to cut sections out before and after the wheel wells to keep them centered over the wheels.

Also noticed the little info thing says you have a 292, I'm quite fond of straight sixes. Wish the trend didn't stray to v-sixes.

Definately easier to sell the long and buy a shortbox. I once cut a longbed stepside down to a short, but all the cutting was between the front of the fenderwells and the bulkhead. It will take a lot of bodywork and patience. It would be much easier and cleaner to swap ot the beds rather than cut from my experience. If you are willing to try the chop....go for it and post progress pics. You will never know how unless you try.
