On the flat tappet hydraulic lifters what's the difference between the two piece lifters and the one piece lifters? What's the purpose of the two piece lifters? Is the bottom piece that touches the cam a harder piece of steel than the rest? Why not just make the entire lifter a harder piece of steel...or is that what the one piece lifters are?
