Aftermarket helper springs for heavy loads.
Adding more springs of any kind would likely make the ride more harsh.
This is not a potential way to add lift because you'd be fighting the existing leaf springs.

As John said above, they're helper springs. Their only purpose is to help level out the truck when hauling a load. My '05 had some on it when I bought it. I chucked them immediately. It made the truck ride harsher and "spring-ier", the rear end bounced all around with those worn out shocks
