Well, even though the engine didn't start, it sure sounds like a real bearing knock to me. If it is super loud while running and nobody can tell where it is coming from, that doesn't sound good. This should not have happened by just replacing the rear main seal but I'm afraid something went wrong somewhere. If it was me I think I would bite the bullet and pull the engine and inspect the crank very carefully and plastigauge all the bearings. ( I don't own mics so I plastigauge). Then I would put all new bearings in it and hope for the best. I would also inspect the flexplate very carefully for cracks too. This would be a good time to replace it since they are pretty cheap. Maybe after all that you will figure out what went wrong.
