I run a safe haven for big blocks that are... uh.... not used. Yeah. Feel neglected.

*remembering running my own big block up at 5,000 @ 127mph*

I'll take a video of it running but honestly wont sell until the other one is in place and running good - besides, I will have a better feel for what parts I had to steal :)

Oh it's certainly fine. I just wanted the Block itself with a good crank, good heads are a plus. Or whatever format it comes in, even if it's missing everything and just a shortblock

I want the block itself for future builds, so it's whatever you wanna put up for sale when you're done

305 will not have enough grunt for a 4x4. IMHO.I don't care if they came that way new. You need low rpm torque to get away from the stoplight. 350,383,400 or big block.

I think that if you eliminate the fuel injection from the 305 it will negate the mileage gains that you are looking for. The power to weight with 454s in these trucks results in better gas mileage than with a carbureted small blocks. Why don't you just put the money into low pressure fuel injection and a serpentine belt conversion. The 305 will be anemic in the Square, they couldn't even move the FBodys around respectably.
