i call BS. If i wanted to run a 3k stall, ide run 4.11's and alot bigger of a cam, but in my case im building a Street Pounder that will have some pep but maintain Some drivablilty, With this cam the recamend a 2400stall, headers, 700cfm, and a dual plane intake, which is exactly what im gonna run.

Sorry for ranting there. But ive researched it enough to know what im doing in my case.

And i could run a 3k stall in my setup atm, but since cruise rpm is 2.8k, i dont feel like buring up a converter.

I was just trying to help you. I hope everything works out good for you.

I think your looking at the information I provided wrong. He saying to match the cam you've picked with the stall that you would need is a 3000 stall. He does this everyday whether you believe or understand it or not.

I didnt mean to snap at you, But I have taken into account alot of factors and figured out how to make it streetable. A 3k stall isnt the best idea with what im doing cause my cruise is onyl 2.8k and i want it to sync around 2.5ish. I dont wanna be un-sunk at 65mph on the highway, thats how you burn up converters.

If i was buildign for WOT then yes, ide get a higher stall, but ide also get deeper gears, But with 3.42's you cant.

I understand that you do not want to run that much stall and nor would I. The point that I'm trying to make is that the cam is to BIG for what you're trying to achieve.

A street car is a lot more fun when it has low end grunt. Because of that, I also would go just a touch more on the mild side with the cam. On the other hand though, a cam a little on the too wild side will help keep you from blowing the tires off of it.

I realize you've made up your mind driver but if you would like a cam recommendation from someone that designs and builds engines I can sure do that for you.

who are we even talking about here anymore? I was looking at the summit cam to be a cheapskate, should work fine with the vortec heads at max .466 lift. I might do a minimal amount of machine work just to be on the safe side. with that being said, anyone with a square bore vortec compatible intake manifold they wanna sell, let me know.

I think the whole discusion kinda relates to the topic and should stay.

Yea, my cam is 200$ its not the cheepest Reggie.

Reggie, you can get spread bore intakes also. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PC-SBC-CHEV...Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d4146eb77&vxp=mtr Thats the intake im gonna run. It says it flatens at 5500, so for you it would be perfect.

Reggie i apoligise about the discusion that has taken over your thread XD.

No Driver4r, he asked who we were talking about, and I answered you. I was not calling you out personally or anything like that. And yes we do have good info here.

Reggie, @.466 lift, if you want to be on the safe side, you can take a sliver off the bottom of the retainers, its your call, some people do, some dont like the idea, The retainers are made of a lightweight alloy and grinding doesnt affect them.

I just measured mine and stock they are around .490, again not all vortecs were made to the same specs.
