Yeah, mine is a bit of an odd duck too, somebody optioned a LE9 305, with a 3 speed automatic, 2.73 L.S.D; heavy duty brakes, springs, and shocks; front sway bar, power everything, chrome, etc, etc.Yep, 700R4 became available in '82 for the 305 and at some point after that for the 6.2 diesel. But for standard, light duty trucks, the 350 was the default. And there was no rhyme or reason further than just how they were ordered. My truck was absolutely loaded to the gills, even having the "gold medal special" package for the olympics that year but for whatever reason, the guy that ordered it wanted the 350 over the 700R4. Go figure.
