Intermittent Wiper Module Rebuild?

Trying to add intermittent (pulse) wipers to my 83 GMC and have a used switch and module. All functions work but the intermittent wipers, of course. I'm assuming that it's the module and not the switch, after doing some checks on the switch found in another post on this site.

What goes wrong on the circuit board to stop the intermittent wipers from working? Anyone rebuilt one before?

I have a couple of modules from an 84-87 intermittent system, I might try to wire one of them in if it's possible, and the original is not repairable.

Why are you assuming it is the module and not the switch? It can easily be the pot in the switch. The pot is also gated by the switch mechanism itself, though if all other functions work correctly it likely is not that gate function giving you trouble.

If the switch checks out, the next likely component would be the capacitors on the intermittent module. They don't last forever and are usually the first components to go bad. I have rebuilt a few of the newer versions of that module and usually its the bad capacitors causing the failure.
