Ok the short version is this:

While searching for parts for my daughter's truck I am building I came across a guy who had a very nice 1978 Dually that he had lost interest in. He spent tons of money on this truck and it is bad ass. He had thousands in parts still in boxes that I got in the deal. I know you guys want pics and I will try to post soon. Here is my issue. The truck has a very nice red paint job on it. However, he bought brand new red carpet for it (uninstalled) and had the seats re-upholstered red and white (different shade of red). He bought a brand new Black dash and black door panels. All of this needs to be installed, but quite frankly I think it all clashes and looks like crap.

I am leaning toward black carpet, to match the dash and door panels. If I go that direction, I just do not know what to do about the seats. Do I go all black seats, or maybe grey seats, or something else? These are stock style seats. I could put in leather buckets with folding center consoles that also serve as a middle seat.

Please give me your thoughts on it. I am seeking input so I can make a good decision. Thanks for your time,

Rich

Personally I only like three different colors with a red truck, black, red, or tan. What you have now sound like it would clash big time.

pretty much the only colors that work are Black/grey, Red or Tan/brown.... depending on the shade of red is what you should go with when it comes down to Black/grey or Tan/brown... lighter shades of red usually look better with black or a brighter tan where a darker deeper red would look better with the lighter end of grey or even some shades of brown

I'll always say gray so don't ask me. Only thing to ask me is light gray or charcoal, and in Red, could go either.

Only color that don't get gray, is Tan or Brown, those get Tan interior.

This ain't for everyone, but here's what I would do since I like the factory optional two-tone interiors and the seats are already done.

Buy a red dash pad or dye the new one, then dye the door panels the same shade of white as what was used for the seats. I think it would be the cheapest way of making the current stuff work.

Thanks Guys for your responses. All have good points. Bucket, I am going to research your idea, mostly because it will save me several hundred dollars if it works out:) If not, I will go black carpet and maybe a charcoal seat. Pics coming over the weekend

My truck was originally red and it has a dark red interior in it.

I aint a fan of tan.

It works but I don't care for it. I'd rather do grey.

Honestly tho, black would be my number one choice, then maybe red.
