Is the exhaust leak a rust-through somewhere? Or is it a bad clamp/gasket?

Rust in the middle of the 4 runners where they join into the collector so I can even get to it

That's what I figured. High-temp epoxy can be used to repair it until you can get new headers, and at least fix that issue for the time being. One issue is to keep the epoxy from just dripping down into the hole and not patching it. The fix is to soak a small *** of steel wool in the high-temp epoxy, then jam it into the opening between the four runners and let it harden there. Then you can patch around that to make it air-tight. It will last a year or two.

Ok just keep anyone/everyone posted I changed the vacuum advance change and idles much smoother now and I also have the timing a 12° advanced since it runs best there still waiting on carb springs and headers

Ok installed the new step up springs with no luck. Carb was just shot I believe so installed a summit racing 600cam carb with new summit long tubes and bam purs like a kitten. Thank you rich for your insight and knowledge I really do appreciate it.
